Music and Piano Usage Policy
Music is a welcome addition to events, including art receptions. Music that requires an amplifier and/or is to be played in areas other than the lobby or Turner Room requires explicit permission from the Library Director.
Jeremy and Linda Gloo have given a Steinway “O” Grand piano, circa 1906, to the Eastham Public Library.
The piano will provide unique opportunities for performances, master classes, and other kinds of musical presentations. The piano is not available for private practice or recitals. Use of the piano will be limited to pianists with previous playing experience. Pianists requesting to use the piano must be approved by the Library Director.
In general, the piano will remain in the Gregory S. Turner Meeting Room and be kept covered when not in use.
Requests to use the piano must be made at least one month in advance to ensure that the piano is tuned and prepared for performances.
Request to include music should be made to the Library Director with the following information:
